#WHAT DOES ERROR 5100 MEAN ON A CANON MP470 PRINTER SERIES#
Your Canon printer uses a series of golden colour contacts on the front of the cartridge as the only point of contact with the cartridge. This does not however mean you must use a brand new Canon cartridge in your printer only that your printer is having trouble identifying the installed cartridge as compatible. Canon’s official text to describe the error is “The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized” however these messages may also appear when using refilled or remanufactured Canon ink cartridges which do not carry canon ‘FINE’ branding as well. The Canon E04, E05, E14 and E15 error messages appear when a Canon Pixma inkjet printer is having trouble recognising one or more cartridges.
